Christmas in Milan – Christmas shopping places and how to reach the main Christmas markets

Christmas is one of the best times to visit Milan. During Christmas holidays, the city becomes even more spectacular, thanks to the presence of Christmas markets everywhere and large sparkling trees, to be discovered while walking through the streets, or with the city’s public transports.

The largest Christmas market in Milan takes place in Piazza Duomo, with over 60 chalets selling traditional Christmas gifts and crafts such as decorations, tree balls, nativity scenes and a wide range of food delicacies. The Duomo Christmas market is open from 9am to 9pm, and is the perfect place for an afternoon or evening stroll. Piazza Duomo in Milan is close to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, via Dante, Corso Vittorio Emanuele and via Montenapoleone, the main shopping streets in Milan, ideal places to do Christmas shopping. Just a few steps away from the Duomo you will find also La Rinascente, a collection of high-end stores with Italian and international brands in fashion, accessories, beauty, homeware, design and food.
