Eurobasket 2022: information and how to reach it

For the first time since 1991, Eurobasket – a basketball tournament between national teams, assigning the title of European Champion to the winner - returns to Italy. Some games of the tournament will also be played in Milan, at the Mediolanum Forum from the 2 nd till the 8 th of September. In this article, you will find information about Eurobasket 2022 and how to easily reach its main events with Milan public transport.

The tournament will be hosted by four countries: games will be played in Germany, Czech Republic, Georgia and Italy; the knockout stage will be held in Berlin.

The first match in Milan will be on the 2 nd of September, between Ukraine and Great Britain at 2.45 pm. Italy (nicknamed The Azzurri) will debut the same day at 9 pm against Estonia. Countries that will play in Milan are Italy, Estonia, Greece, Great Britain, Ukraine and Croatia. Between these, the four countries that perform the best will enter the final stage of the tournament.

During Eurobasket, Milan will host many events in the city center, that will be very easy to reach with Milan public transport. One of the main attractions will be a “Basketball Fan Zone”, that will be set up close to Milan Cathedral (piazza Duomo) from the whole period of the tournament: a must-go for all basketball lovers.
