Public transport strike on the 2nd of December

Friday, the 2nd of December, there will be a general strike, with the risk all ATM and Trenord vehicles not running on that day in Milan. Workers from all public and private companies may strike, thus causing major disservices for people wishing to move around with public transports.

In Milan, the strike will involve Atm vehicles - subways, buses and trams - and Trenord regional trains. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the strike will affect the aviation sector for the whole Friday (December, the 2nd), rail transports might stop from 9pm on December 1st to 9pm of the following day, whereas for city's public transport the precise hours of the strike are yet to be decided, it will anyway be a 24-hours strike.

Among the reason for the strike: "the renewal of contracts and the increase in wages, adjusting them to the increased cost of living, the introduction of the 12€/hour minimum wage, the cancellation of the rate increases of services and energy, the freezing of  prices of primary goods and fuels, the reduction of working hours (not affecting the working salary), the blocking of military expenditure and the shipment of arms to Ukraine".

Strike in Milan 

In Milan, trains might be cancelled from 9pm on December 1st to 9pm of December 2nd. ATM employees will have the possibility to strike for 24 hours (the precise times are yet to be decided). Both surfaces and underground public transports will be affected.
